The advancement in printing technology, rising mobile workforce and surging need for on-the-go printing solution have boosted the world market for mobile/portable printers which is forecasted to cross USD 13 billion mark by 2020, according to a report.
The recent report by TechSci Research said that advancement in printer technologies like thermal mobile printers which uses thermal paper in place of cartridges or ribbons, are boosting sales of mobile/portable printers across the globe. The decreasing thermal printers' prices and sharp drop in sales of ink-jet and impact printers have also impacted the global mobile printer sales.
Though the increase in usage of portable or mobile printers can be witnessed across the countries, the regions such as North American and European regions have seen more growth, the report said.
